πŸŽ‰ Exciting News: New Military Locations Added!

Posted on October 6, 2025

We're happy to share some updates to our military family community! Thanks to your valuable suggestions, we've expanded our database with six new military locations that will help even more families find the resources and connections they need.

New Locations Added:

πŸ›οΈ CBC Port Hueneme - Navy
✈️ Homestead AFB - Air Force
✈️ Castle AFB - Air Force
πŸ›οΈ Bolling AFB - Historical name for Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling
πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ RAF Wethersfield - Army (pre-Air Force establishment)
πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ RAF Polebrook - Army (pre-Air Force establishment)

What This Means for You:

We didn't just add locationsβ€”we made them truly useful! For each base where it made sense, we've added 209 schools to help military families find educational options for their dependents. Whether you're stationed stateside or overseas, you'll now have access to comprehensive school information that can make your PCS transition smoother.

A Special Thank You:

This expansion wouldn't have been possible without your input! Your suggestions help us build a more complete and helpful resource for military families everywhere. We're constantly working to make sure our community has the tools and information they need to thrive.

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, if you have suggestions for additional locations or improvements, we'd love to hear from you!

We're Open for Good! πŸŽ‰

Posted on October 1, 2025 at 2:30 PM EST

We're excited to share some big news β€” MyMilitaryConnection is now officially open for good! After months of testing, refining, and listening to feedback, we've taken the site live for the entire community of service members, veterans, and dependents.

Over the past few weeks, we've made steady improvements to both the backend and frontend of the site:

Backend upgrades – Faster, more reliable performance so pages load quickly and data stays secure.

Frontend updates – A cleaner design and smoother navigation across the site.

Mobile experience – Optimized layouts so the site works great whether you're on a computer, tablet, or phone.

But we're not stopping here. πŸš€

Our next major feature β€” built-in messaging β€” is already in the works. Soon you'll be able to connect directly with other members of the community through a secure, simple chat feature right here on the site.

This is just the beginning. Thank you for being part of our launch and helping us make MyMilitaryConnection a place where the military community can reconnect, share, and support one another.

Stay tuned β€” the best is yet to come.

Building MyMilitaryConnection: Why We're Here and Where We're Going

Posted on September 23, 2025 at 3:45 PM EST

When I set out to build MyMilitaryConnection, I had one simple idea in mind: give military families, veterans, and dependents a place to reconnect with the people and places that shaped their lives.

Growing up in a military family means moving often, sometimes across the country, sometimes across the world. New duty stations, new schools, new friends β€” and just as quickly as you settle in, it's time to pack up and start over. Those experiences are part of what make us resilient, but they can also make it hard to hold onto the connections that matter.

This site is about changing that. It's about creating a place where you can find others that shared those memories and relationships don't have to fade away.

Why We're Doing This

I know firsthand how easily those bonds can slip away. I've lived the constant change that comes with military life. That's why this project is so personal to me β€” it's about making sure the people who walked those same paths don't lose touch.

We're building more than just a website. We're building a space where service members, vets, and "brats" can see the bigger picture of their own journey and know they're not alone in it.

What We've Accomplished So Far

Since starting this project, we've already:

It's been a lot of work β€” but seeing it come to life makes every hour worth it.

Where We're Going

This is just the beginning. As more of you join, the site will keep growing into the kind of resource we've all needed for years. Your feedback, your success stories, and your presence here will shape what MyMilitaryConnection becomes.

We would love to share those success stories as they happen β€” to celebrate the connections, reunions, and memories that bring this community to life.

I'm proud of what we've built so far, but I'm even more excited about where we're headed β€” together.
